One of our annual events here at the Alpha Nu chapter of Tri Delta is DHOP! A late night breakfast buffet for Charleston students, locals, and tourists to raise money for St Jude. We were outside of McAllister dorm on St Phillip from 10pm-2am making pancakes (chocolate chip on request, of course), bacon, and juice for hungry customers. We raised over $500 in the amount of time that we were running the booth. There were so many people at once we unfortunately had to leave a little earlier than planned. Thank you SO SO much to everyone that came out to support us and to Zoe Parry and Anna Sipe for all their hard work
Tri Delta is so excited to have the support of the Avett Brothers in our fight to end childhood cancer!
On Sunday, March 30th, Haley Thompson, head of sisterhood events for our chapter, planned an awesome self defense class. Four instructors from Master's Studios in Charleston came to teach our sisters some awesome self defense techniques. It was very informative and so a great time!
We are so excited to announce that we are CHAMPS of Sigma Chi's Derby Days. Derby Days is an annual competition that Sigma Chi puts on to raise money for Yes Carolina, a local charity for young entrepreneurs. The theme was "Destinations" and our chapter chose California. Monday, we all gathered for the derby hunt and song competition! Bay Fulton did an awesome job creating the song and we got 3rd place. Tuesday was "Tag a Sig" day- the competition was to get as many pictures with brothers of Sigma Chi and tag them on Instagram (shoutout to Chandler Sella for 43.. yes 43... pictures that day *see below if you don't believe me*) and there was also a speaker from Yes Carolina and later a trivia night at Boones. Wednesday, we did an amazing job in the dance competition! Thursday and Friday we had a great time playing powderpuff... even though there were a few bruises Sigma Chi ended up raising over $35,000 and we are so honored to have been a part of the event and to be the winning sorority is so exciting Thank you Madison Mauck, Bay Fulton, and everyone else who participated during this fun week! Talk about some dedication on "Tag a Sig" day!
March has been such a crazy month here at Charleston! Finally getting to post some pictures from spring break! From New Orleans, to Honduras, to Turks and Caicos we all had a great and fun week to relax and celebrate!
Tri Delta has been extremely involved in St Jude Children's Research Hospital since we began our partnership in 1999. Every year, Tri Delta has it's biggest fundraiser for St Jude Children's Hospital called "Sincerely, Yours". Each sister gets a certain amount of letters and envelopes, and we write letters to our friends and family members telling them about St Jude and asking them to donate. Our philanthropy chair, Zoe Parry, her assistant, Anna Sipe, and countless other sisters have been working to make sure every letter is stamped and ready to be sent out this week! In addition to having our sisters fill out and send letters, our chapter hosted a bake sale where Charleston students could come up and get a baked good for free... instead of paying money for the If you receive a Sincerely Yours letter, please take a moment of your time to read the amazing story enclosed. Also, if you can, please fill out a contribution card and donate on behalf of Tri Delta Our Alpha Nu chapter, Tri Delt, and all of the children affected by donations to St Jude, THANK YOU! If you did not receive a Sincerely Yours letter, but would like to donate on behalf of College of Charleston or on behalf of Tri Delta, please visit this website https://shop.stjude.org/GiftCatalog/donation.do?cID=14062&pID=21790 Our Delta of the week this past week was junior Leighanne Martin for her awesome midterm grades. Congrats Leighanne and keep up the good work!
We are sending our sincerest apologies to the family, friends, and SAE brothers of Grant Eney, a beloved member of the Charleston and Greek community here at CofC that was taken too soon. He was an amazing man and close to many in our chapter. Please keep the Eneys and the memory of Grant in your thoughts! You will be missed.
"Death comes because the brilliance inside of us can only be contained for so long. We do not die, we pass on." This past weekend, our Alpha Nu chapter recently hosted our annual Tri Delt Parents Weekend!
As always, it was a great time had by all. On Saturday afternoon, at the Tri Delt house, we hosted a trunk show with amazing items from Moon and Lola, Heads Up Charity, and Christina Jervey, who all donated 15% of their earnings from the afternoon to our philanthropy, St Jude! Please check out their products if you're interested! http://www.headsup4charity.com/ https://christinajervey.com/ http://www.moonandlola.com/ Following the trunk show, that evening we hosted a silent auction where there were items from handmade crafts and jewelry to vacations! All of the money raised from the auction went to St Jude. Following the auction there was a cocktail at Craftsman's Kitchen on East Bay Street! On Sunday, there was a brunch at Burwells for our seniors and their parents to celebrate the final semester that they have with us! Thank you so much to our Philanthropy Chair Zoe Parry and Social Chair Veronica Ingham and to their assistants Anna Sipe and Bailey Crump for an amazing weekend, where we raised over $3,000 for St Jude Children's Research Hospital!! |
